going back to the blood issue, how are they going to do episode 18 (Haku's death) and all of Gaara's "Sabaku Kyuu" events? I mean, although it's probably possible, it's difficult to have Naruto without blood. It's the most common thing that shows as a result of battle; they get smacked into a tree, they bleed, they see something vulgar, they bleed, etc.
By the way, does anyone know who Haku's voice is going to be done by? And if he's going to be a girl in the dub or not. I mean... It's either they make him a girl or American children will be slightly confused with the sight of a pink-wearing 15-year-old male shinobi hunter. Would they change his gender? I mean, for his character design it would be easy... *sighs* It's a pity that Naruto's voice is all... 
I don't remember if anyone mentioned this, but I think the whole "believe it" thing is a replacement for "Dattebayo" or something. He says it often enough... [-Topic changed to reflect thread content. -Nagi] |

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to talk about what will be edited out here. From what I hear, people who work for CN usually check out the boards, and when people mention what might be edited or not, they might go and actually edit out the scene. This was supposed to be the reason why EVA was heavilly edited when it was shown in toonami during their Big Robot week even though CN and ADV had promised that it would be shown uncut.
Yeah, Believe it is the replacement for Dattebayo. BTW, why do people keep on saying Haku will be turned into a girl? Toonami has shown androgenous characters in the past. Also, only 4kids and Nelvana are dumb enough to do those changes. |

Because if Jakotsu in InuYasha was changed for [adult swim], TOONAMI's fair game. |

Jakotsu wasn't changed into a girl. If you're complaining about how he sounds like a girl, the Japanese version also sounds like a girl. Apparently, Rumiko Takahashi wanted Jakotsu to sound like that. I don't know why. Maybe it was for ambiguity. His Japanese VA was also the one who played Ryoko in Tenchi.

I'm pretty sure he was originally a guy that was changed into a woman for the American audiences. Apparently they thought the kids couldn't handle him constantly wanting a piece of InuYasha, and not in the fighting sense either. |

No. He was also a guy in the English dub. He just sounded like a woman just like the Japanese version. Blame Rumiko Takahashi for this.

Hey you can't also forget Kamatari The Scythe from Rurouni Kenshin. In both dubs he sounds like a woman. When I first heard his voice I was like okay this character is a woman than later on when it was confirmed "she" was a "he" I was shocked. Don't know if this has any relevance but I hope it helps.

He wasn't changed. They kept saying he and him whenever they regarded Jakotsu. I thought they were making a mistake as well but when I saw him without his Kimono, I admited that yep that was a guy. All they did was make a female his VA. And according to other posts, that was the same in Japan. Accept it. |

Funny enough, Kamatari is voiced by the same woman who voices Naruto in Japanese. In any case, no, I don't Haku won't be changed into a girl. He is not gay, or a crossdresser, or transvestite, or whatever. His gender is just kind of ambiguous. I dont' see what the problem is here. Chances are he will be voiced by a woman, but that will be no suprise - as most young boys are voiced by women anyway. Also, at Shirokawa, shouldn't you add a spoiler tag over spoiler[Haku's death]? |

What about DiC and Pioneer with Zoicite and Fish Eye in Sailor Moon Classic and SM Super S? (Also Zirconia in Super S, for no real reason in terms of avoiding homosexual content.) |

That was a long time ago. Standards have loosened up and the voice acting area has gotten better. We really have to stop looking at the past for examples of things to come because, and I don't know if you haven't realized this yet, it is not the past. |

Unforunately I think there will be alot of edits, most blood has been edited out already so far, so I'm sure that those episodes will see alot of the blood removed/toned down. Also, maybe you should edit your post for spoilers in case there are some who are watching Naruto the first time on Cartoon Network? Some examples: Episode 7 (CN / TV Tokyo)
