According to EvaMonkey (who have the cover image) Neon Genesis Evangelion vol. 10 is slated for Japanese release this coming March (and English release probably sometime in the next millenium :P).

YAY!!!!!!!! I've been waiting for the next vol.! Does anyone know why it took so long for him to make the next vol.?

well, it's not exactly serialized like other manga, so it has no schedule to follow, so Sadamoto is probably just doing it whenever he feels like it. *Shrugs*

Probably closer to "whenever he has time." A lot of manga (hell comics all over the world) are done at a breakneck pace, especially when they are in a serialized format. A great American example would be Kevin Smith, creator of films like Dogma and Clerks. His Spider-Man: Blue comic isn't finished years after it began because he has to also keep up with his film production, running his comic book store, attending various events in conjunction with all of the above, and the rest. Then, he has something like three or four comics that he is writing.

Of course, it's incredibly annoying to those of us waiting to continue the story.

It's been reported that Sadamoto's editor has even gone so far as "given up" trying to coax him into submitting material on time.

Now that's funny!! I wish that my boss would just "give up" on me having to make salary each week or "give up" on me following all of the company's programs.

It must be nice.
