Pretty sure Bryce Papenbrook is more likely to get a lead. He seems to be the poster boy for AoA dubs. |

For someone whom I've otherwise seen as pretty okay with dubs compared to many anime fans in these forums, what is with this venomous hatred of Guilbeau? Honestly curious, since you seem to be like this with alot of forthcoming California dubs. I've seen him in only two roles, one of which I can only really remember (Mikado in Durarara!), and maybe while nothing particularly superb, I can't think of that voice being anything below "normal". By comparison, it definitely took me longer to warm up to the dudebro-ness of Masaomi's character in DRRR! Anyway, while pretty much in the same boat as Brian Hanson on the subject of Neon Alley, it's nice to see this announcement. It was a fun show, and it'll be cool to see how season 2 fares. |

I tried to watch this series. Really, I did. But I just couldn't get into it as it was full of what pederasts love and thus what I despise.
My 100%-non-pederast-bros-who-love-this-series (lol) assure me that the show is great, despite its creepy shouta. Maybe with a dub I too will be able to see this putative greatness. Maybe. I mean, if either Bryce or Darrell get cast as this show's lead then it will be so hilarious that I'll laugh past the creepy parts that Michael Jackson would be all over were he still alive. |

According to the latest postings on Bang Zoom's Facebook page, the show they've been holding open auditions for at AX is indeed Magi. I wonder how well those auditions are going; we may very well see a whole lot of new names in the cast once everything's finalized.
What really stood out for me about this series was not the creepy shouta (though I did notice that too), but how whitewashed everyone and everything was despite the setting having ostensibly Arabic trappings. Then again, it's SOP for most anime and manga to depict everyone as ambiguously European. |
