What anime movies or series do you think will be next years big hits?
Imo Gonzo's first real movie will probably be the #nr 1 movie of next year.
Can't say much about series cause i haven't read much about it, but what do u think will be next years super hits?

SEED 2 isn't going to be out until 2005, most likely. Sunrise's pre-occupied themselves with this new SD Gundam thing, for the time being, and it would take at least a year's span to produce a full Gundam series, anyway.

Saikano may do well, but the character designs will make non-viewers feel it is lolicon, and hurt it's image immensely.
Naruto will do spectacular in the US, once Viz brings it out. (I hate to say it but they definitely have it, and are sitting on it's release)
Now what may be really interesting is how the next Gainax flicks will do. Abeno should do great here, and they have something else in the pipeline for a spring release.

For the US, I hope Gunsligner Girl and Scrapped Princess does well for the next year.

Awww darn, I was hoping for 4kids to release it.
As it is, it's currently at too few episodes to show. for that sort of series, going at one episode per week'd annoy a lot of the kids it'd (naturally) be aimed at.
Maybe 2006?

Well, I watched Naruto for the first time last week, and while it is not a bad show, and it is in the elementary school 3:30 timeslot over here, I'm not sure any American distributor would have the guts to target it at kids. I mean, the violence is pretty graphic, and, well, rather young looking people die and get crippled and stuff.
Though there is always that handy episode skip button :P

Pokemon--the *too many-th* season--
No really, but I believe GITS: Innocence will be an awesome hit, at least with me. I'm excited about the "Peacemaker" anime in the Fall Preview Feature.

What makes you think Viz has Naruto? I would have thought Viz had Shaman King too and they didn't.

My money is on Naruto, One Piece and Peacemaker Kurogane. They're all pretty much along the same lines as shows that have already done well here, so I can't imagine they wouldn't follow suit.
And as much as I'd like SaiKano to be included in that list, I don't think there's any way it'll be on television, though it might be a moderate commercial success. TechTV might pick it up, tho'. They've got some pretty mature shows on there.
