This film is not the end of the franchise though.

I guess it's not too much of a spoiler to say there is a coda scene where Kumiko is now the head of the Wind Band club.

The author has just released the opening half of a new novel chronicling the 3rd year of Kumiko at high school roughly tidled "Kita Uji's High School Wind Bands Last Music Challenge" or something like that ?
