On the other hand, a show with lower viewer opinion in a popular genre (e.g., battle competition) may make the cut for reviewing, while a show of higher viewer opinion in a less popular genre (e.g., educational slice-of-life) may not. So bad shows may well appear in the rankings if they are from the most popular genres.

YuYuYu 7 was just about as good as all other episodes so far from it, wonder why it got such a huge bump in the ranking

Might just be that more people rated it than usual, and those people happened to like it. For example, I often let a few episodes of series I really like build up before watching so I can binge on a bunch at once - that means I only participate in the ratings every few episodes. I'm not sure how common that is, but it could explain odd jumps in the ratings.
