Recently,I heard here on ANN that a website called "The Anime Herald's" going to get a print version. While it is good news after people said that there isn't a lot of print media around these days. But,I have a question. Will we soon see a print version of Anime News Network? It might be interesting to consider. It'll be interesting to think about. What would it be like? I'd be interested to see it. What do the rest of you think about that?

Probably not.
ANN has helped publish 2 magazines in the past, Protoculture Addicts in North America, and AnimeLand in France. We were much more involved in Protoculture and the ultimate conclusion was that we were spreading our staff too thin and it made more sense to focus on the website. It's possible that ANN might create a one-off "collectors edition" at some point, but we absolutely never will do a regular magazine. Having experienced that industry, I never want to be involved in it again (the Newsstand / bookstore magazine industry). If we do a 1-off, it would have to be a project we feel that greatly benefits from being in print, and isn't simply a vanity project. Anyway, currently there are no plans. |
