A very uninspired but nicely pace movie.
Hopefully it will do well.

Not wanting to hire somebody with telekinesis and flight powers doesn't sound that insane to me. I mean, can you imagine the liability? Yikes!

Just got through the premiere and rewatched immediately three times over because this is so beautiful and bears careful rewatching. I really appreciate a story that doesn't hold your hand but causes you to think to fully understand and appreciate and this does both. Not that it isn't understandable on first pass, but a "twist" comes toward the end so in rewatching you get more context.

All this isn't "just because you are a long-time Gigguk/Garnt/Grant fan" (which I am, and Sydsnap BTW...) but I strive to appreciate a piece based on what is presented by standards of critique and by it's emotional impact and personal enjoyment and I can say this little gem would rate as highly if it weren't made by them or if I never knew them. I believe it stands on the level of shorts by acclaimed auteurs. As Richard mentioned, this story is universally impactful and relevant and presented simply so that it doesn't get lost or muddied and I wouldn't say it seems contrived in any way. A person with telekinetic power should give anyone pause to be near.

Beautiful movie. I watched it first in Japanese with the English subtitles. Just now I rewatched in the English dub. Really deserves a rewatch: everything comes together better. I don't know this Giguk but this is a great project. Did I mention Kevin Penkin's soundtrack?

"The idea that no one wants to hire someone with her power set—so much so that she has to take an entry-level job at a call center where her powers are irrelevant—is, frankly, insane."

That is very realistic to me: immigrant forced to work way below their skill level, very common. Foreign, never mind "alien" skill set/education not being valued? So real.
