More media conglomerate expansion and contraction, not exactly a good thing for the customers or artists, but a "good thing" for the shareholders and executives at the top. Note that I use quotation marks for good things to emphasize the sarcasm.

People should go watch One Battle After Another in the theater. That kind of an experience is an endangered species.

Eh, well, they clearly don't know what to do with it. Pass it along to someone else and spin the chamber, see what happens.

Too big to fail? More like too big to succeed. I swear after canning movies for tax reasons and said movies were going to be lost media I have never wanted a punch through the internet button so badly.

So you mean that raising prices while eliminating content wasn't a brilliant business strategy?!? Damn, who'da thunk it?

Not surprised, WB was making some dumb decisions and terrible shows for a while now. Is this the end of Jason DeMarco? Surprised

Headlines have been reporting about a WB buyout literally every other week all year and each time it never happens. So call me back when it does.

They have been on a massive decline for over a decade. There animation division has been going downhill which is why Cartoon Network no longer exists.

They tried to catch up with Marvel using their DC Brand but it has not succeded either. Out of the 10 movies they released in the past 5 years only one was profitable.

They Really Messed up losing Jhonny Depp when they fired him for Fantastic Beasts and supported Amber Heard ruining the Fantastic Beasts series so they lost a big name star in there movies.

Several Movies they produced were finished but never released and written as tax write offs such as Cartwoman, Acme vs Coyote (This one was salvaged at least) etc

So yeah it has been going downhill.

Cartoon Network still exists and you don't have to make up stuff for why WB sucks.

Putting aside everything else the Fantastic Beasts movies were already terrible movies that had nothing to do with Amber Heard even most Harry Potter fans thought those movies were garbage but all reputable sources cite 2025 has been Warner Bros' strongest year for movies at the box office. Again you don't have to lie to justify hating WB.

It was Batgirl. Catwoman was a movie that came out way back in 2004. Again facts.

I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to it. At least it would give Sony a streaming platform which they lack and the possibility of more anime appearing on Cartoon Network. I also would be interested in what they could do anime wise with WB properties.

Of course, there are a million other reasons why this is a bad idea.
