This interview was conducted more than a month prior to airing, so I'd not seen any of the animated Mechanical Marie yet, nor had I seen The Fire Hunter, nor was I aware of the alleged use of AI in it.
You can bet I would have asked had the interview been conducted after the anime started airing, though!

I know it's probably true for most directors but I got a laugh out of his response to the "what drew you to this project?" question being "eh, a gig's a gig, I'll do anything for a pay day"
