That seems like the type of thing that should have been saved for movie goers to discover as a nice surprise instead of telling them about it.

Why reveal this with less than a week till the premiere?
This should have been saved for audiences to see in theatres as a nice surprise.

This is baffling to spoil now, the movie has been tracking incredibly well.

They couldn’t keep this a secret for just one more week?

I agree. Save it for a post Credit scene. The only upside I see is that if the film does well this could lead to a Starfox film one day.

Yea I don’t understand this either, this reminds me of when the Dragon Ball super: Broly movie was about to release in theaters and they spoiled Gogeta in the final trailer.

Don’t know why people are shocked. They already revealed Wart & Mouser thy weren’t going to keep this secret. Even more so when one of the trailers already teased Fox was in the movie.

I also think people disregard that had the studio not done this some enterprising fans would’ve done this before everyone that wanted to see the movie saw it.

I just don't understand what point Fox McCloud serves being in a Mario movie when Star Fox has nothing to do with Mario and this movie already feels overstuffed with references.

When it comes to characters showing up in a Mario movie, it's more of a reasonable to expect old-school Mario characters almost entirely forgotten by Nintendo than a character from a different Nintendo IP altogether.

I wager it's to set up the Nintendo Cinematic Universe for an Avengers-style Super Smash Bros. movie.

Not really, the goal has clearly been an eventual Smash movie for a while now, and we already knew Pikmin were in the movie
