All the little things cut are forgiven.
The episode was absolutely fantastic, and for most of it I felt like it might as well go on for a whole hour given the movie quality of this episode (enhanced by the letterboxing for the "dream sequence").

The voice acting was also superb and really stood out to bring forth the emotions this time around, and considering from here on out that's what MP100's gonna be about... I'm extremely happy about it.

Rating: A+ (100%)

I wish i could give this episode more than five stars, it absolutely blew me away! I think i'll have to rewatch this a couple of times in order to fully appreciate it.

As for "being rushed", after i finished the episode i was so excited that i made the mistake of searching for other's reactions and a lot of manga readers (and i'm one myself, btw) seemed to be mad that the anime didn't reproduce every single detail...but we didn't really need to see spoiler[ the cat getting killed] or that spoiler[Mogami hanged himself] because the animation (and the fantastic seiyuu!) managed to convey Mob's suffering and Mogami's despair in ways the manga couldn't.

spoiler[Actually if you pay close attention to the details it does say on the TV near the end of his "flashback" that Mogami's body was found and under (or to the side) it says cause of death was hanging, so I'd say that's good enough]

Did anyone else think that Mob was drawn differently after coming back from going 100? He seemed a bit taller and slimmer, like he had grown.

There is one factor that many people did not pay attention to, that is that not only the powers of Mob come from their emotions, as from other psychics. The difference is that the Mob has increased its power by restricting all its emotions.

If you notice, every villain who appeared before him, or any psychic, had a different personality type, and a different goal based on different emotions. Unfortunately few people have realized this. I found this construction of the author of the series very good.

Pretty awesome episode this week. This show is grander and extremely clever! I wasn't expecting finale-level stuff this early!

Nah, it's the bowl cut that's his power limiter. You've seen what happens when his hair goes wild. Smile

I can’t keep parroting that Mob Psycho is pure greatness. The animation in the second half was truly phenomenal, let's talk about that. Bones went crazy, that animation was higher quality than most movie animation quality.

I had the feeling that the time spent in Mogami's illusion was rushed but it's okay because I really don't want to see Mob get more traumatized onscreen and better to be rushed than to stretch it out and tip over into misery porn.

Holy shit, did they go all out with the animation the moment Dimple got to Mob.

Speaking of Dimple, it just hit me that they were using his voice for possessing Mob and it was probably easier to distinguish but wow was it weird once I started actually paying attention to the voices.

Mogami is one of the more fascinating Shadow Archetypes for Mob and to be honest I'm kind of disappointed that he seems to have pretty much left the plot (though this is fairly in line with how ONE operates so eh, I'm not exactly too torn up over this).

I do like Minori's character especially with the points used to illustrate the end but uhhh, funding a cult with this much money can only end badly.

You realise how controlling, and even a bit nasty, of Mob Reigen is when Mob displays even the slightest amount of push back.

ONE proving exactly why he is such a good writer.

Reigen, usually the most adult character in the series, gets bitten in the ass for his continual exploitation of Mob and his lack of interest in Mob's life outside of job. seeing Mob's development up to this point has been amazing. Mob realizes that he has friends and he's now understanding that Reigen has exploited him.

Mob is a precious cinnamon roll that needs to be protected and credit to Reigen for realizing he's been a shitheel, putting his life in order and letting Mob get on with his.

Now I understand why Bones rushed Mogami arc by cutting around 1/3 of the manga content because they wanted to animated Reigen so bad for taking off his tie and his shirt in the most sexy way possible /s. One minute of silent for all poor souls that are Reigen's fangirls who almost dying from episode 6 just from 3 seconds of teasing Reigen's very fine back.

Come back to this week's episode. While Mogami arc is forever my most favorite arc in general (I'm a manga reader so I'm a bit bias), Reigen arc is my most favorite character arc and a turning point for me from liking Reigen to loving him to death. It's also a turning point for Mob too. This is the first time Mob stood up for himself and really took time to think over everything he learned from his master. He's not the clueless and naive kid like before. Mogami taught him a lesion, Mob put effort to learning from it, and he decided to moving forward.

Reigen on the other hand, is the one who stays behind. What a sad life he has when his only friend is a middle school kid. He's throwing up in a valley and questioned who is he in this life is just so sad and ironically very relatable to me - an adult who had the same question after graduated from uni and basically unemployed for nearly a year. But everything after that is even more interesting because Reigen almost immediately come back to work and he worked very hard. It's just so in character of him. He didn't falling down into his depression but rather standing up and moving forward too. I think ONE put a little of his personal story in here. If I remembered correctly he stopped drawing manga and try to find a "normal" job for 2 years before coming back.

The next episode will be even more interesting. And I hope everyone will enjoy it.

since my first review from this season has recently garnered some unexpected attention on Twitter for describing Reigen as an “internet sex symbol.” I just want to say that if anybody wants to point fingers, please direct them towards the Bones animators who deliberately gave Reigen an anime-original shirtless scene in this episode.

The Twitter stuff is pretty hilarious. Laughing

But never mind shirtless Reigen, what I need right nao is a gif of him putting on his jacket.
