Zac strikes again! From the Spring '09 preview thread.
| Zac wrote: | | kyomagi wrote: | | since when has Zac Bertschy been allowed to review anime, much less own a computer and access the internet?
Just wondering cause i always thought that reviewers had to be qualified to do so, not just some joe off the corner. |
I don't know, since when were you allowed to post in my forums?
I'll fix that little problem! |

From Tony K.
| Quote: | | Zero just Geass'd me into locking this thread. He says, "fanfiction is a travesty that, unless in the hands of a truly great writer, really isn't worth the degradation of some already well-established characters and scenarios made by their respective creators. And kill Rolo while you're at it!"
Yes, Your Highness! |
This made me giggle for about 30 seconds... Not to mention the truth to it.

From Blood-

In my brief time here at ANN, I've noticed that the 3 Big Lightning Rod topics are:
1) fansubbing
2) moe
3) lolicon
If anybody ever started a thread about fansubbing a moe lolicon show, I bet the entire board would spontaneously implode. |
I laugh because it's probably true.....

From the review Carlo did for Tayutama - Kiss on my Diety
| Quote: | | Last time I had an encounter with a young girl I'd never met before in my life, Chris Hansen of Dateline NBC popped out of a doorway and asked me to take a seat. |
That made me laugh...and hopefully Carlo's joking!

In response to a necropost:
| Blood- wrote: | | First, let me say Animax99 that I hate you for this necropost. When I saw the title, my heart leapt with joy because I thought this might be an announcement that there will be a 4th FMP season. Big thanks for getting my hopes up only to find you asking a question that could have been answered by a 0.00000000000000001 second Google search.
But despite the fact that I feel nothing but seething revulsion for you, I will say yes, Episode 000 is available on the Second Raid DVD box set.
Now please die. |

*Sigh* I cannot understand why some people have to get all hot headed and on the defence (if worse) when they get corrected about how the forums work.

In which this got a thread lock and more than likely some administrative assistance as well

Really liked this quote from the Sub Only DVDs thread in Retail, re: why anime DVDs tend to be more expensive than their domestic counterparts.
| Zalis116 wrote: | | Nobody ever questions why a Ferrari costs more than a Ford, or why a bottle of Guinness costs more than a bottle of Budweiser, so why should anime be any different? It's a luxury good, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that anime is, on average, better than cheaper domestic entertainment. |

"Administrative assistance"? I like that. I think I shall adopt this euphemism. "You are administratively assisted! Go away and never come back!"

This literally made me laugh out loud. From the Rental Magica announcement thread.

Uh, excuse me, the anime industry in North America exists only to satisfy the every whim of internet forum users. Profit is not a factor. |

Sometimes a good quote consists of just a single great line, as opposed to an overly long gag. And sometimes it takes a team effort. This is an example of both; great inspiration, strong buildup, and a snappy solo finish:
| Thread Title (for context) wrote: | | Barefoot Gen's Nakazawa Wants to Present Manga to Obama. |
| GATSU wrote: | I think he should be giving a copy to Kim Jong-Il first. |
| revilenigma wrote: | | exactly, kim is more of a threat for causing nuclear war than obama. |
| Seras wrote: | | Obama is sitting in the office where the nuclear attack that devastated the author's life was authorized. |
| Zac wrote: | | Hey, at least we have a president who might actually read it. |
| zanarkand princess wrote: | | I think you mean "Hey, at least we have a president who can actually read it." |
Great work you guys. I think I heard the emphasis on "can" from a mile away. From this thread.

Yes, Kyon, context is indeed a wonderful thing...

Oh. Wow.
From the sidebar summary of the just posted review of a Battle Royale manga.
| Quote: | | The Battle Royale manga does the original novel that inspired it proud, and it is easy to see why readers on both sides of the Pacific love returning its lyrical yet terrible dance of adolescent death. |
Oh how one little two word preposition makes a difference.
