I don't care what it is this is fabulous news. Saiunkoku Monogatari is absolutely one of my favorite animes and I'm absolutely thrilled to see Viz Books picking it up in written form, especially since they have a much better track record of finishing what they start! The artwork of the Japanese tankobon is really beautiful and I've been buying them despite not being able to read Japanese. Very Happy

While I am happy for fans of the series and may be picking this up myself. I am VERY upset that they got this while they continue to not release new volumes of Shakugan no Shana light novels. If that is any indication, they just might not get around to releasing all the volumes of Saiunkoku. (VIZ, please either continue releasing Shakugan no Shana, or let someone else have it please.)

It may be worth noting that Amazon.co.jp lists the first volume of the manga as being 110 pages. Rather significantly less than the 176-pages S&S is listing.

I've been so disappointed since I heard they were not releasing anymore of the Moribito novels. This would be a nice fill in the gap!

I'm pretty sure the page count can vary when they translate novels from Japanese to English... (Unlike manga, which stay the same no matter what.)

Sadly, at this point I think we can count the Shana novels as good as canceled. Confused
