I've been noticing that VIZ Media has had an increase in finished dubbed Anime that they had dropped a long time ago (Prince of Tennis, Hikaru no Go, etc.) and putting it on iTunes. One of biggest regrets is not be able to finish Zatch Bell or the Rockman EXE series. I was wondering if you any of you have a strong feeling that they will finish dubbing all titles that they have previously dropped (especially Zatch Bell )

I think you're missing something. They aren't going back and dubbing these things, the dubs were done and completed already, but they never released them on DVD. For example, Monster is obviously completely dubbed since it's fully aired on TV and is completely available on iTunes, but it's not gonna be finished on DVD. Hikaru no Go is in a similar situation.
Viz is just run by people who don't give a shit.

I wasn't aware that everything was already finished. I never see VIZ release official statements like that (although I do see people posting what episodes of Naruto Shippuden have already been dubbed at the studio). I mean the last time I saw stuff like Hikaru no Go and MAR, before this year, was like 2006 or something so I assumed they had just stopped dubbing (though I can't see how you could get lazy and not dub the last 3 episodes of a show and keep us waiting for 5 years).

That is just how they operate. There really is no rhyme or reason for anything that they do. They just throw things randomly at the wall and give up on things for no reason and make stupid decision and for what ever reason Yet, for so reason they still are in business.

The Gash Bell and Rockman.exe series (and Ryuusei) are also edited hackjob dubs, so even if they were, those shows would probably not get a complete dub anyway. Shame, since Ryuusei no Rockman was an awesome series, as well as Gash Bell.

You know what, after my phone call with VIZ last year, I started to think that myself (especially with the way they've been handling the Bleach and Naruto Shippuden DVD Box Sets).

And that's why I atleast thought they would have the good sense to add it to VizAnime.com's wonderful collection of Subs. I know there's times when I've settled for just seeing the show even if they cut the Dub and do the Sub.

After what happened with Monster I will never buy a Viz release again.
I had been waiting for years for this to be brought out in the US and eagerly bought the first set. Then I waited and waited and waited.
Then Viz in their infinite wisdom decides not to distribute any more volumes. So I get stuck with coaster set!
The very least they could have done was offer a limited edition box set with the complete series. I would have shelled out for it but they just don't give a shit about their customer base.
I just hope someday Funimation is able to get the license. Screw Viz, I hope they tank! They are no better than the weasels at TokyoPop.

Make a digital copy of what u have/ get the rest of the episodes via online. Never wondered why this was a big issue. If you watch ur anime on a cpu well no-brainer. If you prefer a big screen tv (no issue still) just copy the data onto a blank disk. There you go. Your own DVDS. Although, if u have a recent TV, just connect your pc to your TV.

No, the issue:
Some of you guys were complaining about dropped series and DVD releases in general. You hate waiting/when Viz cancels.
Solution:
I just told those people how to produce their own DVDs and what they should have done since they wanted dub DVDs so badly. I also stated that it is not a big issue since the dubs exist online.
Conclusion:
So what are u saying? fyi the topic changed already after 3rd post. His question was answered already by The King of Harts. Now this the typical bash Viz thread and state how Viz cancelled DVD releases. Also, if u didn't read my post out of context, ud realize I was primarily responding to Yamaji.

Regarding the Viz bashing:
Viz is not shit, garbage, whimsical, hopeless, etc. The issue with Viz is the following. They have a product that is not in high demand. That means sacrifices or dropped series will occur often. The company is not stabilized and they lack consistency. They do stuff for a reason:
Again, since most anime is online, DVD releases not a big deal anymore nor is it the preferred method. That is at least true for America- Funimation, ANN, Crunchyroll, Hulu, netflix, psn store, The Anime Network, on demand, etc. Those alternatives should answer many of your questions. I'll answer the one I'm most familiar w/ tho. Why no more DVDs Viz? The answer is quite obvious. Simply put:
1. Blame piracy
2. Blame the fans for lack of support (meaning you so called fans don't buy DVDs)
3. Why would a company continue to produce a product that is not going to generate a positive net income, much less breakeven?
4. Evolution of technology

You're darn right I'd want more Rockman. I especially craved it after they stopped dubbing Shooting Star Rockman. Too bad watching fansubs on Youtube seems no better then downloading an episode from somewhere.

So the point here is that regardless of what Viz titles or properties out there half completed the likelihood they will be finished completely is pretty much a dead issue here and that the cause may have been due to the financial impact a particular series had sales wise (lack of) so the only way to "revive" any of these series is to find it and download it?
Because one can download homemade copies rather than purchasing the official DVD's, will this become the wave of the future. Dvd's may get harder and harder to find unless its a mega hit like "Bleach".

I too was disappointed Prince of Tennis and Monster was not completely released on DVD. I really would have thought Viz would at least test the market for a limited edition pressing of these two series, ala the Animeigo style in which the more people pre-order the cheaper the boxset becomes. Unfortunately
they are staying focused on their money makers.
The one good bit of news is that I saw Galaxy Express 999 movies listed in my Previews. Finally I can replace my vhs copies. Unfortunately it's not Viz that is releasing these dvds, it's another company.
