So, we now have a release date for Yu-Gi-Oh!; Capsule Monsters. What does everyone else think about this new series/movie/OVA?

I personally feel that it is going to be a major disappointment. Yu-Gi-Oh!; Duel Monsters was an excellent anime, but the franchise went downhill when Yu-Gi-Oh! GX was created, similarly to how Dragon Ball Z was an excellent franchise that went downhill when Dragon Ball GT was created.

I am going to attempt to find a fansub of Yu-Gi-Oh!; Capsule Monsters so that I do not have spend money on it, in case it turns out to be bad. Of course, it is entirely possible that this new series/movie/OVA may actually be a masterpiece, but I do not think that that is likely.

So, what does everyone else have to say on this matter?

Yugioh: Capsule Monsters is an American-made production by 4Kids like how Yugioh The Movie: The Pyramid Of Light was an American-made production. You most likely aren't going to find fansubs of this anywhere. Given how much the American-made Yugioh movie sucked, I don't have much hope for this thing and all I can say is that 4Kids is obviously trying desperately to milk the Yugioh franchise for all its worth, even though the craze is so obviously dead, which just makes me hate 4Kids even more for not knowing when to stop a good thing while it's still good instead of waiting until it sucks even more to stop.

I'll probably end up watching it, I'm not too much of a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan but I loved the chapters in the manag with Capsule Monsters, those have to be my favorite. And for that reason I will most likely watch it.

The "craze" might be dead, but Yu-Gi-oh still has an established fanbase. I was even invited to a Yu-Gi-Oh Convention/Card Tournament in San Jose this weekend. I'm not going to go because I don't play the card game and because tomorrow is the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco... atleast I hope it's tomorrow and my friends weren't lying to me.

Yu-Gi-Oh will not be completely dead until the card game isn't played anymore, and kids stop watching kids show. Pokemon is a great example of what is happening with the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise since it debuted in America.

Aren't card games hobbies and entertainment? I've never played Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, but I do play Magic. I don't enter tournaments but rather play with friends during my breaks when we have nothing else to do. I also know it is really expensive to play these games. Sometimes they even play for decks. My friend that invited me is one of those people who enters, and most times ranks high or even wins, tournaments. He makes a lot of money playing the game. He also sells a lot of cards and has won many "duels" were they bet their decks [The winner gets the losers deck]. In his case, his obsession is because he likes to play the game, and is making really good money from a card game. How many people can say they won, and later sold, a $400 deck [every single card in that deck was holographic]?

I though some a-hole was arguing a while back saying that Yu-Gi-Oh Capsule Monsters would be a TV series and would get butt hurt if you said Capsule Monsters was a movie. So is this the only Capsule Monsters that will be released, or is there actually a Capsule Monsters series coming soon?

I can assure you that the Yu-Gi-Oh craze is definately not dead. My Sportscard/CCG store regularly holds 2-3 tournaments a week packed to the brim with children who hardly know how to play the game but want all of the "E-Hero" cards because that's what they've been seeing recently on the TV show. When these kids are able to convince their parents to drop between $10 and up to $50 on single cards that aren't even good for actual Yu-Gi-Oh dueling, there's definately still a craze there.
