I've seen a number of these Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Rebellion "film strips" on various auction sites everywhere and I really don't know much about them (though I know they have been done for other anime films recently).
Are they merely producing a single special, 35mm version of the film and then chopping it up and distributing the pieces as extras or are they making little film strips of some of the more popular scenes and sending out multiple versions of those? I'd appreciate information from anyone who might know the answer to this or any other information about these things. I'm just curious about them. |

The former, so the end result is completely random. You might receive either a background longshot with no character, or a facial closeup of protagonist(s). A closeup sometimes can be auctioned for hundreds or even thousands of dollars. |

The random film strip I got with my copy of Brave Story was probably worth less than the plastic unfortunately....

I wish Brave Story had been released in the US. I love that movie...
You know, with film strips being popular now, I wonder how much I could get for what I have? It's one of the full theatrical trailers for the 3rd Pokemon movie (4kids version), on the actual roll from the theater. Had a friend who worked there when it came out who snagged it for me. |

If you don't mind it being DVD-only (including a US dub and subtitles that are better than the Japanese DVDs) and can play Region 2 PAL discs then there are Amazon marketplace sellers carrying it: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RWDY5E

Unfortunately, I can't play anything other than Region 1 and Region A.
