If they're gonna go that far, I'm surprised Marvel didn't commission official Captain America/Thor manga.

I'd say it's more like when Warner Brothers got Masami Kurumada to do drawings to help advertise the Clash of the Titans remake in Japan. Essentially, get a popular manga-ka that has some slight relation or interest with the work & have the artist do some concept art.

That said, Yudetamago did a great job with this image. Thor looks a little awkward due to the eye placement & the helmet, but Cap looks amazing.

And yet, strangely, we still haven't seen Watsuki draw X-Men movie promo art. Or official Katsura Batman art.
