Over two hundred dollars for a pen? For that price the damn pen better last a life time.

It's a fountain pen. Proper ones do last that long: the ink is replaceable and the nib wears out pretty slowly. In japanese they're mannenhitsu, ten-thousand-year pens.

The elaborate design of Char's fountain pen is a marvelous sight!
However, $210+ is a bit on the steep side...

Keep in mind, however, that this is the Red Comet's pen so it also allows you to write 3x faster!

For a Fountain Pen that is not that expensive, sure you can get cheaper pens, but you can also get ones that are far more expensive.

What a beautiful pen, sadly I don't have a spare $210 lying around.

The $5600 David Oscarson's "Black Water Snake Fountain Pen" has gold or silver Chinese dragon is wrapped around the pen. A factor for this pen is that has layers of diamond-cut guilloché, which Merriam-Webster defines as "an architectural ornament formed of two or more interlaced bands with openings containing round devices". Oxford English Dictionary defines it as "ornamentation resembling braided or interlaced ribbons".
