So much for one game?? Seriously?? Just because it's SAO...uh no. No anime in the world would force me to pay that much for a string attached to wood...

It may be well-made, but $150 for a ball and a cup is just too steep...There are better, more extravagant goods out there that are more worthy of that price tag.

The article calls his sword Elysian but it's not, it's <Elucidator>.

Maybe Kirito should take the fidget spinner that's stuck to his outfit and play with that instead.

Saving yourself like $145 that way lol.

Remind me with an episode of Dagashikashi where certain character took the trouble(he already got one at home) to buy a kendama. He bought it and played it in short time before get bored.

I see a lot of disparaging remarks about kendama--you guys should see how much some of the high-end yo-yos built for competitions cost, considering they're made of titanium alloy laser-cut to be symmetrical down to the micrometer.

Once you delve deep enough into the competitive scene, ANYTHING can reach this price range or higher. This one was clearly designed to be used for competition, and the people shown in that video are competitive kendama users.

The difference is very much the same as the difference between a kid's bike you can get at Walmart compared to the racing bikes used in the Tour de France. It's just that you hear a lot about bicyclists who race in competitions, whereas you don't really hear about the people developing and demonstrating kendama tricks.

The record asking price that I've seen for one mass-manufactured game is US$26,000. (That being said, the creator kind of broke down through production and needed legal protection--it's been bumped down to US$10,000 currently.)
