I've been hearing about this game for so many years, but never had the motivation to pick it up before. If it's really that cheap I might just have to give it a try this winter...

*out of stock on Amazon*

Sigh.

So this game version doesn't have HDR support? Aww poo. Sad I'll still take that 4k though.

I'd buy it on PS4, if I hadn't already finally finished it a year ago on PS3.
It's just one of those games you have to buy for every system, so it'll never leave you. Embarassed

I found precisely one press release that mentioned possible HDR support whereas 4K was brought up literally everywhere so I didn't feel comfortable reporting the former, not to mention that said press release featured an incorrect date for the game's release, so I took it with a grain of salt. Ergo, assuming HDR support is not available, since it hasn't been officially confirmed by anyone from Capcom or HexaDrive. But can assure you that even with my basic devices, the PS4 and PC versions of the game look absolutely gorgeous. Really doesn't need any more polish!

This game has been on my to-play list for, lower bound, seven years. Harvey ate my PS2 and I think all my games, including this one; I've added the PC port to my Steam wishlist.

You keep referring to Ammy as a 'dog-god', but the Japanese major in me is crying. Ammy is a wolf for a reason. In Japanese, the word 'Ookami', when written like the game title: '大神' means 'big god' so thus, Amaterasu of Japanese mythology. However, when written '狼', but pronounced the same way, it means 'wolf'. THE WHOLE GAME IS A PUN!! To my knowledge, there are no interpretations of Amaterasu as a wolf in any old stories (can't say I keep up with all the modern media, but I haven't heard of any of those with her as a wolf either).

Anyway, really looking forward to getting my first HD copy of this game! It will be my 4th copy of it (including a Japanese import to play on a Japanese PS2), can you tell I love this game? Anime hyper

I have the Xbox One version and quite happy with it. Everything is clearer and it's, as I told my husband, like coming back to an old friend. I had the Wii version once. But I'm pleasently pleased with this one. Anime smile

It's actually a triple pun. "wolf", "grand god", and "large paper". oo-kami

Having played the PS2, Wii and PS3 remake versions, and being mainly a PC gamer despite all that, I have to say that even with the 30 fps lock on PC that it is the best way to play Ōkami. I've only clocked in a few paltry 3 hours but it already feels awesome.
Mouse and Keyboard is the control scheme Ōkami needed. If you really need a controller to play this, do yourself a favor and grab a Steam Controller. The trackpad functionality also works with it!
But do not underestimate the power of using a high fidelity mouse with the brushstrokes. Especially if you have one that you can change DPS on the fly for camera and stroke control. The bars in the option menu are sufficient but fine tweaking with that gives you the best control.
I can't wait to fight the Kyuubi to totally destroy it with the sheer speed you can throw out the Celestial Brush. Cherry Bombs are viable for attacking casually! I bet some of the more complicated brush strokes will be a breeze too.

I stream this game even though I'm not one to have viewers. Try watching someone that can use a M&KB setup fight with Celestial Brush strokes and you'll see the difference between the slow-ish clunky analogue control and the fast, precise moves with a Mouse. It's what the Wiimote/Move controls should have been. I still suck at circles, though.
