So am I...

I finished a rewatch of the series just before they announced the Bluray version, so I'm not exactly rushing to watch it now, but I still wish that they'd ship out the sets now, then send the rings + maybe a coupon or something down the line. Two months+ isn't really worth the wait for a bonus item.

What is there to be said that already hasn't been by this review or countless others? Utena is one of the top 10 best Anime ever and Kunihiko Ikuhara's magnum opus that he has yet to top and it will most likely stay that way.

A great conclusion to a great series. The artwork on this release is perhaps the most honest representation I've ever seen of Utena's sexual themes on a Western release. (Amazon used to recommend Central Park Media's old release for girls ages 9 and up, which is... Shocked)

Utena is still one of the greatest classic masterpieces in all of anime, shoujo or otherwise. It has so many deep complex layers and the characters are so multifaceted and engaging. The animation and music are still some of the most gorgeous and the Japanese version has some of the greatest voice acting in anime. I'm glad it's getting such a high quality Blu Ray treatment which I still need to pick up sometime.

To paraphrase Joseph Heller, you say Ikuhara hasn't made anything as good as Utena as if someone else has.
