Great news. This is one of the shows that I've been enjoying the most from this season. Have a feeling it was planned as a split cour from the start though.

It was pretty much a given it'd get a second season, but it's great to have it confirmed.

It seems a lot of anime are being planned as split cours from the start

I hope there is some improvements in production, I don't really mind the way the characters look or animate, but the background art in some pleases really needs improving.

The manga's 15th compiled book volume will bundle an original anime DVD when it ships on September 19.

There goes my hope for a complete series for the most part. Still, it did more with its premise in the first episode than some series did in their entire run. I'll give it that much.

So...ok, I'll watch more than just the first episode now.

Cool. This is easily my favorite new series of the season.

I'm definitely digging that we're seeing some shows, like Tokyo Ghoul and Overlord, getting new seasons within the year.

Given how far in advance anime studios are supposedly booked these days, I would say that is a safe bet.

For those that need some confirmation of my claim about how far ahead studios are booked:

That said, all of the anime studios are booked solid for the next 3 years, so they wouldn't be getting to it anytime soon.

Other Answerman columns have made similar references.

Yes! This show has been one of my favorites of Spring and it would have been upsetting if it had ended with a cliffhanger. This year in the world of anime just keeps on giving, doesn’t it? Very Happy
