It's most likely a joke, given that most hiatsuses of GK were explained with some absurd reason starting with 'shu', such as 'being on base' (shutsurui), 'counting on abacus' (shuzan), 'harvest' (shuukaku), 'yearly counrtywide wage discussions' (shuntou), likely as running joke from 'shuzai' - collecting research. 'Giving birth' is 'shussan', and Noda-sensei is a man...

I could not tell if Noda or Noda’s spouse/partner gave birth, so I used Twitter’s translation
and got this: Weekly Young Jump 12, released today (2/20), "Golden Kamuy" is closed for giving birth to Noda-sensei. Apparently, Noda-sensei needs to be born.

It's literally 'Noda-sensei's giving birth', so it implies he's the mom
