RIP. Not to take away from his death but I had a small heart attack thinking it was Jyoji (George) Morikawa of Hajime no Ippo fame.

I didn't think I had a connection to Mr. Akiyama until I read the article and saw that his manga was the basis for the 2012 anime film Asura. I was lucky enough to see this with English subtitles at the now defunct and sorely missed Waterloo Festival of Animation. There's never been an official North American release, unfortunately.
