Nice to see this film is getting a 4K UHD BD release. I hope Section23 can fix the aspect ratio issues that plague the previous release. If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's some screenshots from the previous BD release:
As you can see, the previous BD release for Wings of Honneamise was windowboxed (1:74:1, which shouldn't be correct) rather then using the correct aspect ratio of 1:85:1 (or 1:78:1 in most direct-to video release these days) as originally intended. I hope that will be address for this upcoming release. |

Am I the only one who actively hates this movie, and it's lead "romantic" pair

I don't know about "hate", but that particular questionable scene between them has certainly helped age this movie as well as 'Blade Runner'. If not for that I could be more agreeable with its classic status. |

This is my favorite anime movie. I only wish I had a 4K player!

Don't know if I could call them romantic partners. They seemed to be on separate wavelengths, especially with how things ended.

I hope they keep all the chapter stops. And I can't imagine why they wouldn't. My favorite way to watch is to skip past 'that scene', and just watch like the last one fourth. I really love the ending; I don't re-watch stuff a lot, but I have watched it this way two or three dozen times. Really love the ending. I do re-watch the whole thing occasionally, ( minus 'that scene' ), maybe every couple of years or so.
As an aside about 4K and anime: trying to do it on the cheap doesn't work. Try to get at least a 55 inch set, from one of the.better lines. I got a cheap ( $250 ), 'small' 42 inch Toshiba-labeled set in 2020, and for me, it really doesn't do much at that size. Also, the brightness and color are nothing remarkable. I think saving up and moving up to the $800US range would make a noticeable difference. |

I’ve had a 4K player for a few years, but I still don’t own a 4K TV. I figured that I’d get one eventually, so I might as well start buying 4K discs. |

There is nothing in the movie that screams you have to like it. It's a dysfunctional pair, and it doesn't work out. Don't see what's wrong with that, since the movie is NOT about romance. |

Also, I sure wish this is not a visual downgrade, like the new Nadia BD was.
I sure hate downgrades. Will make a wild guess and say everyone else does too. |
