It's no surprise when you find out the director has only ever done actual directiorial works for two Transformers movies, bkth of which were CG. Plus Tezuka Production's usual quality...

the character designer will supervise his designs at least but being a tezuka anime means outsourcing to chinese/korean studios as usual since they dependent on it and sadly outsourcing within tight schedule is making the final product look rough.
