I recognize some scene from Ja Ja Uma Sasenaide ( Ranma's best Opening ) that I used to imitate when I was a kid.

Very upbeat tune with some traditional Chinese sounds. It's actually kind of a surprise since the original Ramna 1/2 wasn't known for its music, and it was actually considered something of a weakness as per reviews on this website. But immediately you get this energetic, peppy feel for an action/comedy.

It’s not really new when the opening was leaked months ago, but hey, it still sounds nice

Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 both nailing the remake OP's.
Needed more female Ranma though.
Also...More long-haired Akane in the OP than in the actual show!

Anything Ranma 1/2 needs more Shampoo. Sorry, I used to be obsessed with Shampoo from the original series.

I'm honestly surprised at how much I like this. I am a big fan of the old school series and manga, and I think the original songs nailed the feel and spirit of the show. But this works for me more than I thought it would.
I love the original UY, but the updated version didn't grab me. I didn't think it was bad or anything, but it was almost too "updated" for my tastes. That may have something to do with my fondness for a show where the early episodes appear to have had a budget of about a dollar-seventy-five (which Oshii made the most of), but still...
Looking forward to this, and looking forward to getting snotty comparing it to the original

It's genuinely crazy how long ago this show leaked that I completely forgot about the show existing until seeing this on the front page again.

As irrational as it is, I'm still peeved at her hair being pink instead of that fiery red that became so iconic to me years ago.

It should be noted that female Ranma didn't have red hair in the manga. Ranma's hair is naturally black in both his male and female form. It was only the original anime that gave him red hair in his female form.
Also, and this is just me, but it still looks red to me in the remake. A pastel colored red, but red nonetheless. But that's just me.

I can definitely appreciate all the throwbacks to the first classic Ranma opening song they put in there. I'm have really high hopes for this remake since Ranma is so near and dear to my heart and I'm just praying they deliver!

Yeah, I can see that. At the very least, I would say it is a reddish pink.

I'll never be able to dissociate Ranma from the original opening... but this op really isn't bad at all. Keeps the same themes and mood, with a bit of an updated feel to it.

This new OP is a nice throwback to the fun openings of the original series. I love all the references from the original manga & anime and I hope the new series gets also at least two more openings and different endings like the UY remake got.

Considering the og series was produced by a record company, had Kenji Kawai as the main composer, had a ton of singles and OST releases, which were also easily available in the west in the 90s, & was the basis for a successful seiyuu idol group (DoCo), I have no idea how you come up with that.

Did it really originate from the anime? It seems Rumiko Takahashi has also depicted female Ranma with red hair in some of the cover arts. Notably Volume 5 seems to depict female Ranma with red hair and that volume was published October 18, 1988, which predates when the anime started airing in April 15, 1989. Also the cover art she drew for Weekly Shonen Sunday in 1987, volume #43 also depicts female Ranma with red hair.
