If it's on discount, and particularly if you are nuts about Gundam? It's.... not a must-see experience, but it's at least worth seeing. Probably.
I'm impressed that you can pick your character and that dual-audio (JP with subs) actually works very well and is enjoyable.
I'm frustrated that they could have done more with it, but mainly kept it in the range of "experimental movie". There's whole spots where it switches to IMAX-sized anime cuts, and other times where they're flying the camera around to different angles attached to your head's viewpoint.
IMO, it reminds me of that 3D Berserk that got panned for not-understanding how to make a production that could make use of the 3D space. In this case, they both make the cardinal sin of leaving your VR body behind and having no idea where the camera should be placed depending on the shot.
It's very much a movie first and a roleplaying experience second. I feel like they realised this wasn't going to qualify as a satisfying VR experience to the folks that know what VR should feel like, so they rapidly flip between gaming > roleplaying > movie camera in your face > game segment > anime video ......and hope that enough variation is happening that the stimulation covers up the fact that they were just kinda trying to see what worked.
Again, it's worth experiencing, but it's not a VR/system-seller.

My main issue with this is that it's not on SteamVR. The fact it's coming to PSVR2 gives me hope, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high. I have a Meta Quest 2, but I want something better to experience this with and quite frankly I'm not feeling the pull to get a Quest 3 or a PSVR2, but I am keen on a Steam Frame or other SteamVR headset. And this is one of those games that NEEDS to be downloaded directly to the Quest, so it's not compatible with SteamVR workarounds like Revive.
