I hope it will eventually be released outside of Japan. It was a decent hit there, but hardly anyone knows about the series outside of that.

I ended up really enjoying Subway. I didn't know about Highway, so I'll have to check that out.
Hopefully the film does well and we get more in the future

Milky Subway was great, and between having it stream on Youtube and getting it dubbed (by humans) into so many languages the creators have done a solid job of making it available. Even with all of that I think I only ran across it by dumb luck and persistently digging through all the listings on https://www.livechart.me/summer-2025/all. I hope a theatrical compilation helps it get more attention.
With that said, I'm curious just how much additional material they'll be able to include in the compilation movie. The show's total is barely over 40 minutes even with the (very short) ending theme. I guess that's longer than the animated feature portion of Virgin Punk, but the folks behind those screening felt they had to include another hour of behind-the-scenes material... |
