Demon Slayer won’t win, but being nominated is pretty cool.

It's interesting how both films are in some form or another related to Sony.

Avatar has been nominated for the Box Office award (which is for highest box office take/global popularity) before its even been released. Talk about how the studios rig the process.

I know this is just the Golden Globes, but it feels so weird seeing Demon Slayer being nominated, all of the few anime films that have been nominated for an award in the U.S. were all stand alone stories, some based on a pre-existing story, but not Shonen manga series. Still, I think K-Pop: Demon Hunters will win due to its sheer popularity, though Zootopia 2 is also gaining some traction.

It's pretty much guaranteed that Fire and Ash is going to gross over two billion dollars, just like how the previous two Avatar movies did, maybe it'll even gross more than The Way of Water.

Kpop will win which will be extremely undeserving. it's just another typical 3D digital animation movie, nothing special about it, it looks just like any other 3D digital animated movie. to compare it to demon slayer which is mainly 2D (aside from background and such) is a crime.

You have to be delusional to think that Kpop's "animation" is better than demons slayer, the fact that it's in the same category is stupid in itself.

Someone in the golden globes judges is clearly doing favoritism, it's all rigged.

Tell me you haven't seen the movie without telling me you haven't seen the movie. KPDH is up there with Spiderverse animation. While awards should pick good animation movies for the award, they also need to pick ones with good stories and KPDH has that. It also has banging music. Not saying Demon Slayer should not win the award, but it is weird that a movie that requires previous knowledge from a manga and/or tv show is in the running.

What's your point here? into the spiderverse animation is also 3D digital animation. those movies are not so special compared to most of the 3D animated movies, they are not ground breaking in any way shape or form. they are not that far off from the average pixar 3D animated movie, those movies and demon slayer simply shouldn't be in the same category, it's bizarre to compare 3D digital animation to 2D.

Also, the award is for the animation, not for the plot, so having to read the manga or watch the tv show is irrelevant for the award.

My point is that 3D animation can be special. You're just a 2D fanboy while I'm a fan of all animation styles.

Um...no? The award is for a movie taken as a whole, not one isolated aspect of it. Story is absolutely a crucial part of any film's consideration for the Golden Globes or Oscars. So tell me, once you strip away the massive franchise hype from Infinity Castle, just what does it have going for it as a stand-alone work?

(And to be blunt, anyone who can't appreciate the brilliant animation of the Spider-verse films has no business talking about animation in the first place.)

Also feel the same way, which is why I’m a little iffy about Demon Slayer or CSM:Reze possibly being an Oscar nominee (as much as I love CSM:Reze).

I wonder why Demon Slayer wasn’t nominated for the "Cinematic and Box Office Achievement" award, though. Being the “highest-earning anime film of all time worldwide, as well as the highest-earning Japanese film of all time worldwide” is no mean feat.

God forbid there's a movie that captured the hearts from people of all backgrounds and ages rather than a standard shonen anime that's one hour too long??
