If you were browsing the Anime on DVD website over the last few days, you have noticed that the background was displaying images of bugs. The reason for this was revealed yesterday: It was part of a promotion announcing the R1 licensing of the Xebec anime series The Third. According to this website, The Third was licensed by Kadokawa Pictures USA, but a distributor has not been named yet. No street date for Vol. #1 has been announced at this time.

i'm surprised it took this long, it's a pretty good show. my only complaint is it needed more plot.

I couldn't really get into this show, but to be fair I didn't really give it time. It has an interesting concept and I think that it has potential to be something great, I am probably going to check this out on DVD. This series kind of flew under the radar it seems, it didn't seem like there was any discussion on this series when it was being fansub. Maybe it will pick up when the first dvd hits the shelfs; similar to Black Lagoon which I think is going to be a huge hit in the US.....if only they could find a way to get that series on [AS]. |

If you look at the page source the flash applet is named 'adv-third-announcement' so I'd be willing to bet the distributor is ADV.

This became one of my favorite shows. It's not THAT good, in terms of an overall rating, but I really liked the animation, characters and loved the basic story behind the show. But the way it played out ocer the entire series made it seem a little watered down from how serious it could be. It slowly made you lose interest but I stick with it and wasn't all that let down by the end. (Room for a sequel)

Yea, at times it seemed like it could have been better than what it was, but overall it was a pretty good series. It has a good concept to it, but, as mentioned before, it could've been played out better. I agree IW2MA, there's room for a sequel, or maybe a remake later....that being said, I loved it when spoiler[she took her sword and blew up the robot army :O).]

It wasn't a bad series really as it was entertaining but I didn't think it was fantastic or anything either. Overall, the show was kind of underwhelming, maybe it was just the other great shows that I was watching at the time (Black Lagoon, Ergo Proxy, Le Chevalier D'Eon), kind of outshined it. I don't think I'd buy it unless there's a real cheap boxset in the future.
It does have one of my favorite opening sequences though. Last edited by Kruszer on Thu Feb 22, 2007 10:11 pm; edited 1 time in total |

My onlu complaint was those couple of episodes where the quality dropped so severely it was painful to watch. Anyone know if those were fixed for the DVD? |
