Is it worth it? I've seen up to episode 4 and while there was action there was not a lot. I reallly want to try not to watch anymore episodes online because then that only leaves 8 episodes to watch on the box set if i get it. Now, it looks good but again, from thoose episodes i don't know.
Is it that i just need to see the rest of the series or what. So whats your opinion on the show.
PS: i think the encyclopedia has a mistake. Funimation announced that gunslinger girl 2 is 13 episodes and the ANN encyclopeda says it has 15 episodes. Can anybody clear that up?

I believe I remember 13 episodes on the IFC airing here in the U.S.
Whether or not to continue is really up to what exactly you're looking for. Personally, I found it to be much more of a brilliantly disturbing psychological study of brainwashing rather than a shoot-em-up piece (at least I hope most viewers were disturbed especially considering the ages of the characters involved).

There is a similar thread here and here and here
There are actually a bunch of other threads about this series if you are willing to do some searching since this series is one of the more talked about series here.

Is it worth it?
In a word, yes.
For many other words, however, have a look at the threads Randall has linked. The fact that is does provoke so much discussion is testament to it's worth as an anime.

Gunslinger Girl and it's sequel Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino are character pieces. You watch them more for the drama, the moral and psychological issues, and because the characters are very well done and fleshed out, that's just how they were designed. There's no shortage of action but the show is not really about action or any type of oveall story.
In my opinion, yes, Gunslinger Girl is definitely worth watching, it's in my top 20. It's a pretty powerful and emotional series which exudes class, style and substance with the fantastic animation and rousing classical music score. I won't comment on Il Teatrino since I haven't finished it but it's generally considered inferior to the first season as far animation quality and character designs go as it was created by a different company. Other than that all the elements that make GSG good are there.
