Unfortunately there aren't very many "anime experts" in this forum. There are a lot of people here that know *a lot*, even people that know a lot compared to other anime fans... but unfortunately not a lot of experts.
More so, I assume you need some sort of accreditation of your expert, in which case even the most knowledgable of fans is out of the question. There are a few industy people here, (but be forwarned, profesional doesn't always equal expert) but if they decide not to respond to your offer, I'd suggest heading over to Anime Research and/or The Anime/Manga Web Essays Archive. Same warning goes for both those sites, many people there don't have anything to officially qualify them as experts (unfortunately some of those without acreditation are experts though), but there are a few people there that are prefessors on the topic or have done their University thesii on the topic... Last but not least, if a simple "editor in chief" of an anime site meets your requirements (although I do not profess myself to be an expert), feel free to PM me your questions. |

As for me, I'm not going to say anything, but Brian Ruh, who runs animeresearch.com, is a Ph.D. candidate whose major area of research is anime, and has a book on Mamoru Oshii due out later this year from a major publisher. If that doesn't make him an "expert", I don't know what can...

If you are looking to interview someone "in the industry", I suggest you contact one of the anime/manga companies directly, whether by e-mail or phone. I know several people (like Tokyopop's Stuart Levy) have been open to student inquiries in the past.
If you're looking for someone who's done academic research on anime, I'll be happy to forward you several names. Finally, I don't know what kind of time-frame you are looking at, but if there is an anime convention coming up shortly in your area, by far the best course of action would be to attend and directly introduce yourself to one of the studio reps. You can then either run the interview right there, or ask for his or her card and gain access that way. |
