I'm not sure how long it has been there, but I've not noticed it before and not see any announcement - you can now view what was entered as the source for all entries, not just your own.

It seems you can also view error reports made by other users, although the only one I've seen so far is one of my own.

Silly me, I only checked the announcements and encyclopedia forums for announcements regarding the encycopedia....
