Yeah he was fired, though they still have him on series composition. Ikehata is a good fit anyways so they should be in good hands. |

They obviously don't go into specifics but it seems it was due to his penchant for ranting about his colleagues on Twitter etc. The comments under the article mention some examples if you are interested.

I had a look at his twitter and he does seem quite candid (one of his recent tweets was "I HATE KADOKAWA!!"). I felt bad for him looking at his tweets when I first commented, but it sort of sounds like he dug his own grave now. Thank you for the information! |

Visually the series is surprisingly on point, it does a very good job of capturing a 90's sense of wacky fun that's been lost over the years (except maybe for the colors, which are a bit ways muted in comparison). If only the song and some of the voice acting could have been a throwback as well, but I guess there's only so much they can be faithful to.
