Glad I'm not the only one who thought that the stuff with Druj definitely dragged things down a bit, no matter how much I enjoyed the character (or at least HanaKana) overall. I definitely think that we needed more room between those successive bits in eps 2 and 3 where they kept hitting that same note of "Jahy tries to put up a good front for Druj".

My biggest complaint through the first few episodes was, "where is this going? is it a comedy? a feels-drama, where Jahy discovers new empathy?"

The thing this show reminds me of more than anything else is Squid Girl.

Squid girl came to the land to punish humans for despoiling her beloved seas, only to end up working at a beach front cafe paying back for the damages she caused and then for her accommodation and food.
Similar attitude.

Yeah cutting it down to a 10 min show would have really helped, a lot of segment just dragged too long. But it's still a fun little show and I'm glad they mostly avoid fan service segment.

I don't have an issue with the balance of humor/pathos. It's kinda like a Chaplin movie. You root for them being down on their luck, penniless, fighting the system. Jahy is just not as sympathetic as the Little Tramp, but then, I'm glad. We've had the silent Little Tramp, now we have the bombastic Little Jahy.

Jahy really reminds me of Dropkick On My Devil! in that Jashin and Jahy both find themselve's in places that are way outside of their comfort zones and have individuals that are hostile to them.
