School Rumble? Not shallow?

Any and all drama in that series always comes to nothing...it's a gag series. The laughs are all that matter. It's defined by shallowness.

I have to say animenewsnetwork continues to disappoint. School Rumble was one of the best series of 2005 and you guys are giving it B's and B+'s. More and more I come under the opinion animenewsnetwork is trying to address the non-anime fan and that a large portion of its staff are not fans themselves and are just paid to write reviews. If someone is a true anime fan (often watches fansubs if they can get them and has over 50 dvds) they will like the sub and dub equally at minimum and like only the sub at best, they will know plenty enough japanese to understand this series.
This series is NOT made to be serious in any shape or form. It is an anime that plays on the stereotype and does an amazing job of it. The animation is not designed to be well done and the style and type of animation that was used for the series complements the anime perfectly.
This is a side topic but I am still pissed at animenewsnetwork (answerman) for his horrid and non-understanding review he gave of kodomo no jikan.Animenewsnetwork is way too grounded in america for proper reviews. I am also of the opinion that if the reviewer does not enjoy the series they should not be reviewing it. (I am not talking about leaving it to fanboys, but it has to be enjoyable for the reviewer otherwise they will not give a proper review.)
Just as proof at how well this anime was liked by fans of it you can go look at anidb.net page here and see the amazingly high rating it gets from everyone. Not to mention the very high ratings it gets on the anime page here as well.
I call for a re-review.

I sometimes disagree with official reviews over here, but I think B grades are quite appropriate for sukuran.

LOL. Dude, are you retarded? Reviews are meant to inform people if a show is worth watching. Reviewers are only supposed to enjoy the GENRE, not the show itself.

Or maybe they're just stating their opinions. Not everyone is going to agree with you, sir.

Well, if an A grade means worth watching, and a School Rumble DVD gets a B, then which anime, if I may ask, IS worth watching???

Judging by the infrequency of seeing multiple A's being awarded, B's and B+'s are generally worth at least one watching.

But...school rumble is good...it's is not 'A' good.

While personally I like the art style I also really like the art in Kare Kano and so on, I like the deformed/chibi character designs but I'll freely admit they are from from artisic excellence.

The series is good, I enjoyed the manga, B/B+ seems about right, A's go only to those real masterpieces out there, Haibane Renmei for example and this is no way as good as Haibane Renmei thus a lower grade seems about right.

A's are generally reserved for the excellent series out there, a B rating is very good, C is so-so, D is crappy and an F is not even worth your time. And it's just a review; it's not expressing a fact, it's expressing an opinion.

grow up, kid Rolling Eyes

School Rumble continues to tickle me until I pee myself Very Happy . But I do agree that the 'serious' episode just didn't turn out all that well. The flashback of Mikoto's and Hanai's childhood was done right, but this one was just, I dunno, I was glad when the episode was over.
The camping trip was great, though! And it even advanced some more Harima-Ery greatness.
But I'm still finding Tenma to be adorable in the dumb-hyper sense, much like Himeko from Pani Poni Dash!, but maybe I'm just a sucker for that type of character Embarassed .
