Reading the headline, in realizing now that nothing Kodaka has produced has had anywhere near the cultural impact that Danganronpa had. I mean, the headline even starts with "Danganronpa Creator".
Of course, I understand that he wouldn't have wanted to just make Danganronpa games until he retired, which is why he ended the franchise with Danganronpa V3 (and pretty definitively, I might add). At the same time, I highly doubt he'd be saying this if he made other games but still produced Danganronpa titles between those games. For some reason, these newer titles just haven't been hitting with audiences. Akudama Drive, however, is awesome and everybody should watch it. |

I love both of these creator's works so I've been anticipating this game since it was announced. I'll buy multiple copies of this to ensure it's successful.

It's not good to get loans to make a game that might fail.... Why not rely on fans and get Kickstarters for pre-pro, prod and post prod? You can gauge fans' interest too...

I get where you’re coming from with the whole loan thing. Taking on debt for something unpredictable like a new game is definitely a big risk. I’ve seen some devs use crowdfunding to test audience interest and it feels a lot less stressful, at least for the financial side. Plus, fans get hyped early.
If you’re into games with communities that really support each other and talk about trading and market trends, check this out. It gives a different look at how gaming communities can shape and support projects. |
