The other show that has a similar 'normal guy isekaied' I was reminded of was Handyman Saito in Another World.

What happened to the animation in ep 4?! Two-thirds of the episode wasn't even a slideshow. Just a single frame held for several seconds between 3 second spurts of animation. I kept thinking the player had frozen but the audio and subs kept going, and when I backed up to make sure it wasn't a player glitch, same freeze frame. I'm surprised Rebecca didn't mention it.

Oh my god, I took it out when I edited away a weird paragraph wondering if I could find green-tinted almost-kiss scenes for every screencap this season. Shocked Embarassed I am so sorry. Yes, it was a real problem this episode, and I hope it's not a sign of where this is visually headed!

No need to apologize! It's just that usually I don't even notice half the complaints re/viewers have about lapses in animation unless they're really severe (the lapses, not the complaints), and this was almost as bad as Ep 11 of Wizard Barristers. So I was just surprised it wasn't mentioned. Smile And yes, I too am worried that either the production is going off the rails so soon, or else they think this style of freeze framing is an acceptable shortcut.

Lol, though WB11 is in a league of its own, my touchstone for this sort of thing has been Ace of Diamond, where they went so far as to add speed lines to inanimate objects, like shots of a stereo and clothes on hangers, and I'm honestly not sure which is worse. I think this was worse, because it wasn't just weird, it was confusing when nothing was moving when it should've been and people were talking and I wasn't always sure who.

Animation issues are the only reason I dropped this one despite loving the manga and being really excited for it to be animated. Imo it was already looking rough in the first couple eps, unfortunately. :/

I’m so irked. I’ve been enjoying this despite the animation being less than desirable and being unsure if the kissing and sex scenes are being toned down. So I decided to buy the manga to get a better sense of everything. Why the shit is volume 2 on back order until April 20 but I can buy the other volumes today? And nobody on eBay or Mercari is selling volume 2! Makes my knickers get into a knot!

I bought the other volumes and I’ll wait to read past volume 1 until I have volume 2. Crying or Very sad

They aren't really. Maybe a little bit, but the novels and manga are both pretty fade-to-black on the sex front.

Thank you for clarifying! You’re never sure unless you’ve read the source material and I have not read past the first half of the manga volume 1 yet.

While I like that their relationship is progressing, Aresh's jealousy and controlling behavior is getting out of hand. A classic red flag of an abuser is isolating the object of their obsession, and Aresh has all but said he'd like to keep Seiichiro locked up (or maybe he's actually said it, I forget). Plus he's gotten even more physically aggressive toward Sei (and I don't mean sexually) in his attempts to restrict him. I know the series won't ever go in that direction, but it still bothers me that that behavior is being presented as cute and harmless. BL 101, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
