Just how many "he's the only boy at an all-girls wizardry/mech-piloting/fishing school, and everyone thinks he's the worst at slingin' spells/pilotin' robots/catchin' bass, but he's actually the best" light novel series are there?

You have to figure, for each series popular enough to get an anime adaptation, there have to be at least three or four collecting dust on the shelves of Japanese bookstores.

Agreed. It is a bit much tbh.
I'm looking forward to this though because Lerche anime always have a really weird and fun side to them, so at least it may be an enjoyable popcorn flick lol.

I could not have said it better myself. There are just too many modern day magic school anime (never liked the concept of that) can't there be a limit, for anime like these the main protagonist is simple and just goes with ever situation that comes at him and to be more typical he would be considered talented and the strongest one there. Another annoying factor would be the fan service (nothing new 99% of the time, just same old fanservice just with different people). There should be a limit to how many repetitive concepts there are in anime like this one and dystopian series (a bigger issue in the west). I could name many manga that deserve to be animated more than any typical over rated magic school series.

I'm more like "you gotta be effing kidding me". I mean, there's the outlook where "all of these anime are the same thing", and then there's this shit where they are literally the same thing.

Mad
When will this accidental ecchi first impression stop..?
I've already seen two similar cases this season, not counting some in the past.

I hate nothing, am tired of no genre/trope and love everything anime regardless of what it is so I definitely look forward to seeing this if its ever picked up by a NA publisher Anime smile

As someone who isn't really familiar with Japanese anime companies and who makes what I took a look at the ANN list of titles they worked on and a half dozen of those titles I absolutely loved and another half dozen or so I can't wait to see once they are released on home video in the NA market Anime smile

The anime industry is a bit slow at catching up with the latest fads, but don't worry, people. Self-insert special school battle harems will soon be supplanted by a flood of self-insert reincarnation/isekai anime. Then you can complain about those instead. :P

I will be watching for the harem aspect and to criticize why they decided to have a woman play the harem dude (as a teen, unless he is cross-dresser/genderbender, that is a big no-no to me*).

*That is, it gets distracting trying to enjoy harems when a girl is voicing a guy, Thank goodness for the mute button.

You know what? I'd be more okay with getting this same premise again if the self-insert "Only Boy In Magic School TM" character... was NOT the main character. They could put a spin on it, where the story doesn't revolve around the boy, but instead the Princess character. They could be like, "Yeah, every year, they allow one boy to receive education at the all-girls school. Why? Heck if I know, but thems teh rulez. Anyway, don't worry about him. He's insignificant to the story at large."

I don't know Rolling Eyes
