Manga went on hiatus earlier this year so author could publish Gigantomakhia series

This year's 15th issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine is announcing on Friday that Kentarou Miura will resume his Berserk manga series in the magazine's 16th issue on August 8.

Miura had taken a break from Berserk earlier this year to publish the six-chapter Gigantomakhia mini-series. Berserk then returned to Young Animal in the eighth issue on April 11, but then the manga went on hiatus again in June.

Hakusensha published the 37th compiled book volume of Berserk in Japan in March 2013. Dark Horse Comics published the same volume in North America in December. The manga inspired a new movie trilogy from Studio 4°C that Viz Media is releasing in North America.

Hakusensha will publish the one-volume Gigantomakhia manga in book form in Japan on July 29.
