Of the Red, the Light, and the Ayakashi's Nanao to launch manga in December

The December issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine revealed on November 15 that Polygon Magic launched a new project titled Ochanomizu Rock. The project will involve a live-action television series in December, a stage play in March, and a manga adaptation by Nanao that will launch in Monthly Comic Gene in December.

The project centers on two brothers: Hajime Katayama, a member of an unpopular band who dreams of standing in Budōkan, and Ryō Katayama, the CEO of a major music label that manages the rival band of Hajime's band.

The live-action series stars Ryūji Satō as Hajime, and Toshiyuki Someya as Ryō. The cast of the live-action series and the stage play will be the same, and the stage play will feature live performances by the actors.

Nanao's Of the Red, the Light, and the Ayakashi (Aka ya Akashi ya Ayakashi no) manga series adapted the HaccaWorks* dōjin game of the same name. The manga launched in Monthly Comic Gene in 2012, and ended in June 2016. Nanao launched a spinoff in September 2016, and ended it in January. Kadokawa published 10 compiled book volumes for the manga, with the 10th volume compiling the spinoff manga. Yen Press is releasing the manga in North America, and shipped the eighth volume on September 19.
