Puyo Puyo eSports PS4/Switch Game Officially Announced

Sega officially announced a PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch game titled Puyo Puyo eSports on Tuesday. The game will launch digitally in Japan on October 25.
The game will offer the regular Puyo Puyo (Puyo Pop) rules as well as the Puyo Pop Fever rules. It will include 24 characters, such as those from Puyo Puyo!! Quest.
The game will support multiplayer for up to four players, including online play. A tournament mode will support up to eight players.
"Puyo Puyo eSports" previously appeared on South Korea's game ratings board prior to the official announcement.
Sega released Puyo Puyo Tetris, the latest game in the tile-matching series, in Japan for Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3 in February 2014. Sega later published the game in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in December 2014, and for PC via Steam in February 2018. Sega released the game for the PS4 and Switch in the West in April 2016.
