Series about about genius doctor premieres in April

The official website for the live-action television series adaptation of Ao Akato's In Hand manga revealed two more cast members for the series on Thursday.

As previously announced, Tomohisa Yamashita (center in image above) plays protagonist Dr. Himokura. Gaku Hamada (left) plays Haruma Takaya, a good-hearted and passionate assistant with a strong sense of justice. Nanao (right) plays Tomoe Makino, a skilled and beautiful politician who brings cases to Himokura and Takaya.

Shunichi Hirano, Shingo Okamoto, and Takahiro Aoyama will direct the series, and Yasuhiro Yoshida, Shigenori Tanabe, and Teppei Fukuda will pen the scripts. The series will premiere on TBS' "Kinyō Drama" programming block in April, and will air on Fridays at 10:00 p.m.

The medical suspense manga's story centers on Dr. Himokura, a genius doctor who specializes in parasitic infections. While rich and prideful, he is also well-versed in a wide variety of fields, and readily tackles the medical mysteries he encounters every day.

Akato launched the manga as a short mini-series in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine in March 2016. Kodansha published a compiled book volume for the manga in July 2016. Akato launched the manga as a regular serialization in Evening last October.
