Omoinotake Shares New Single “Petrichor” Featuring Daisuke Ozasa of OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM

A Clip From First-Ever Performance At Nippon Budokan Now On YouTube

Tokyo, Japan —
Japanese piano trio Omoinotake released their new single “Petrichor,” featuring Daisuke Ozasa of OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM, today, alongside a live performance video from their first-ever show at Nippon Budokan, now available on YouTube.

The track features guitarist Ozasa, a longtime acquaintance of the band. Rooted in their shared musical influences of loud rock and emo, the song marks Omoinotake's first collaboration with a guest guitarist in their career. It captures memories and scenes shaped by time spent side by side, as well as the evolving relationships that can only be expressed with the passage of time.

“I spent much of my early youth with them in a town where it was almost always rainy or cloudy. The three of them moved to Tokyo before we ever felt like we'd had enough fun, so in a way, this track is us making up for that, blending together the music we loved back then with our own hands.”

“It rained so often that I never really noticed it, but after moving away, I realized that the scent I used to smell every day was actually the smell of rain, and that I love it.”
“Life can sometimes feel monotonous when you're always with yourself, but there are hidden moments that shine like small treasures. This song is about cherishing those moments and reconnecting with the part of yourself that can recognize them,” shared Ozasa.

On March 15, 2026, the band performed a sold out show at Nippon Budokan, their first time at the historic venue and marking a major milestone in their career. “Petrichor” was performed live for the first time as a surprise during the show, and footage of the performance is available on Omoinotake's official YouTube channel.

About Omoinotake
Omoinotake is a Japanese piano trio from Shimane Prefecture, formed in Tokyo in 2012 by junior high school classmates Leo Fujii / Leo (Vocals & Keyboards), Tomoaki Fukushima / Emoaki (Bass), and Hironoshin Tomita / Drage (Drums). Known for their delicate yet deeply emotional vocals and lyrics, the band creates a distinctive groove they describe as music that makes listeners “dance and cry,” earning support from a wide range of audiences.

In 2020, their song “Moratorium” gained attention after being selected as a theme song for an animated feature film. Even before their major-label debut, Omoinotake had already built a strong following, surpassing 100,000 subscribers on YouTube through years of independent activity and street performances centered in Tokyo's Shibuya district.

The band made their major-label debut with Sony Music Labels in November 2021 with an EP featuring “EVERBLUE” the opening theme for the TV anime Blue Period. In 2022, “Shin-on” was chosen as the theme song for the film Cherry Magic THE MOVIE. They released their first major album “Ammolite” in September 2023, followed by a nationwide Zepp tour.

Their 2024 single “Ikuokukonen” became a massive hit, topping streaming charts and surpassing 600 million total streams. On January 29, 2025, Omoinotake released their second major album “Pieces” and will embark on a national tour in September. In March 2026, the trio achieved a major milestone with their first-ever headline concert at Tokyo's legendary Nippon Budokan.
