Ninja Box Switch Game Gets Web Anime Starting on August 8

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on Saturday that its Ninja Box Nintendo Switch game is inspiring a web anime series that will premiere on August 8. The anime will stream on the official Ninja Box game website, YouTube, Coro Coro Channel, and Bandai Channel. New episodes will air on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. JST.
The anime's cast includes:
- Emiri Katō as Tonkachi
- Megumi Han as Hiroto
- Chō as Tatezō
- Yūichi Nakamura as Megaphone
- Ayumu Murase as Ponpu
- Kotori Koiwai as Koke-nii
- Shigeru Chiba as Ninja Box
- Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Shaku-nee
- Jun Fukushima as Jarisuke
- Yoshimitsu Shimoyama as Meshigawara-san
Takayuki Inagaki (Chio's School Road, Jewelpet Sunshine, First Love Monster) is the chief director of the anime at Tatsunoko Pro, with animation cooperation by C2C. SMDE is credited with Production Cooperation. Jun Takahashi (Unlimited Fafnir) is directing the anime, Takahiro Nagano is handling the series composition, and Hiromi Matsushita (Nobunagun) and Aika Kawasaki (animation director for Infinite Stratos) are handling the character design.
In the anime's story, Hiroto longs to build a secret base near his house, and in his house's storeroom he meets a ninja and "Nintuber" named Tonkachi. Tonkachi, who knows about the existence of the "Ninja Box," forces Tonkachi to go to the "Village of Tatemakuri," where they meet a talking dog named Tatezō.
The "secret base creation role-playing game" will launch in Japan on Switch on September 26 for 4,800 yen (about US$44).
