The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Gets 'Spin-off!' Anime Promo Short

Orange animates 6-minute film about idols taking bride on a car chase

The second day of "The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls 7th Live Tour Special 3chord ♪ Funky Dancing!" concerts announced on Sunday that an animated promotional film "Spin-off!" is debuting on the Amazon Prime Video service that same day at 10:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m. EST).


The six-minute short features the new song "'Oumuamua ni Kōun o" (Good Luck to 'Oumuamua) and shows the idols taking on the challenge of a new assignment. Four girls suddenly show up at a wedding ceremony, and they take off with the bride. The bride is confused by all this, as "someone" pursues them to take back the bride with a car chase and a running gun battle.

The cast includes:

Kotomi Aihara as Shiki Ichinose

Yumiri Hanamori as Shin Satō

Kaoru Sakura as Chitose Kurosaki

Eriko Matsui as Nao Kamiya

Hana Tamegai as Risa matoba

Naoki Yoshibe directed the short at the studio Orange in cooperation with Cygames, Prime Video, the karaoke company Daiichi Kosho (DAM), and Nissin Curry Meshi. Nanami Higuchi (BEASTARS) wrote the script, and Tetsurō Takanashi designed the characters.

Bandai Namco Entertainment's Asobi Store has started taking orders for a deluxe special Blu-ray Disc at 10:00 p.m. as well. The full film will also stream on YouTube "at a later date." The Amazon.co.jp digital purchase of the film includes an exclusive "Spin-Off Reco" bonus with visual audio commentary and music off-stage talk segment by Matsui, Aihara, and Tamegai. The short marks the eighth anniversary of The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls franchise.
