Anime adaptation of Minatsuki, As Futatsuya's manga began streaming on November 11

Muse Asia began streaming My Roommate is a Cat (Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue. or "My Housemate Is on My Lap, But Sometimes on My Head"), the anime adaptation of Minatsuki and As Futatsuya's manga, on November 11.

Alongside India, the company is streaming the anime in Bangladesh, Brunei, Bhutan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Nepal, the Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The anime premiered in January 2019.

Muse Asia describes the anime:

Mystery author Mikazuki would rather live in total isolation than deal with others. Getting a roommate is the last thing he'd ever do, until a stray cat sparks an idea for his next novel. After plucking the little killer off the streets, this four-legged muse inspires Mikazuki in ways he would have never expected. And for the street-wise cat, this human just opened the door to a whole new world.

Kaoru Suzuki (Pupipō!, DIVE!!) directed the anime at Zero-G. Deko Akao (Flying Witch, Amanchu!, Noragami) was in charge of series composition. Masaru Kitao (Death Note, Dances with the Dragons) designed the characters. Kotoringo (In This Corner of the World) composed the music. Iori Kanzaki's musical unit Schrödinger's Cat adding kotringo performed the opening song "Unknown World," and Yoshino Nanjō performed the ending theme song "Kimi no Tonari Watashi no Basho" (My Place Next to You). The anime had 12 episodes. As with the manga, each episode of the anime has both a "Subaru" and "Haru" chapter that tackles the story from the point of view of both characters.
