Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge opened in Japan in January 2013, and ranked #1 on its opening weekend.

A tale of friendship, betrayal and vengeance based on the hit Shonen Jump series!Once there was a small tribe of people called Kurta lived in a lush and beautiful forest. One day, a group of bandits known as the Phantom Brigade attacked and killed the entire population but one. Their quest was to obtain the eyes of the Kurta people; eyes that turn a brilliant red when excited. Known as the Eyes of Rouge, this color is considered one of the seven most exquisite hues in the world. The sole survivor is none other than a boy named Kurapika. To avenge his people, he has become a Hunter.

Muse Asia streamed the 2011 Hunter x Hunter anime in India in May 2023 and Muse India streamed it in June 2023. Cartoon Network India began airing it on August 25.
Togashi launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1998. The manga inspired two television anime series and several original video anime titles.
